Product Design Engineer – SW_Radio

To anchor their aggressive expansion plans, the company is seeking to identify an experienced professional Product Design Engineer – SW_Radio.

The Product Design Engineer will be part of Access Solution team and will be responsible for leading the system level feature design, coding, developing/executing unit test strategies, will be leading software development team, troubleshooting/analysing problems, optimizing system performance and improving the stability of the product

Key role requirements include:

  • Define Architecture & Design for Central, Distributed and Radio Units of 4G/5G eNB for various features and owns the capacity and stability aspects of the eNB
  • Works with the development team to ensure the implementation of requirements with future proofing for Architecture aspects.
  • Owner of the Capacity and Dimension related aspects for the product under development.
  • Translate product requirements to SW Architecture and high-level design. 
  • Write detailed SW architecture specification covering functional, performance and KPI aspects.
  • Develop high level and low-level design specification.
  • Working/ Leading the development team for feature development, resolving critical issues etc.
  • Strong experience in debugging the PHY & MAC layer issues and proposing the solutions for same.
  • Play a significant role in architect, design, and develop a carrier grade product
  • Support the deployment of software in the production network
  • Support RAN integrations, verification and troubleshooting
  • In-depth knowledge on mobile networks, especially on 3GPP LTE and NR standards in RAN and the interface between radio network and core network.
  • Experience in 5G NR/LTE and LTE Advanced RAN product development is a must 
  • Experience in eNB/gNB physical layer procedures, MIMO, signal processing, Matlab, etc.
  • Experience in eNB/gNB MAC layer procedures, scheduling algorithms, HARQ, etc.
  • Develop new Layer1 & Layer2 Features in 4G/5G as per the latest 3GPP releases.
  • Fix the bugs identified through internal or external testing and from field.
  • Develop Algorithms and validate the same.

 

Your Profile

  • A  professional, preferably with an engineering degree and at least 8-12 years of experience in  wireless domain in L1/L2 area in Wireless Standards such as 5G, LTE, UMTS etc.
  • Minimum 2 years of experience on Architecture with focus on one or more L1/2 areas, preferably for LTE or 5G domains
  • In-depth knowledge of radio development for mobile networks, especially on 3GPP LTE and NR.
  • Prior experience with L1/L2 SW implementation for NR is a strong plus.
  • Experience with NBIoT/CBRS is a plus.
  • Comprehensive understanding of NR & LTE /LTE-Advanced Standards is strongly desired
  • Must have experience with various aspects of NR & LTE L1/L2 SW delivery: Real-time implementation, debugging, unit test, validation and SW qualification
  • Prior experience in SW development for multicore.
  • Good understanding of OS concepts is a must
  • Strong expertise in C, C++, Linux and embedded programming concepts: SW task scheduler, Multi-threaded system, Memory management.
  • Must have experience in testing/debugging software on Real Time development platform.
  • Candidate should have excellent concepts in Signal Processing and deep understanding of underlying principles
  • Must have the ability to multi-task in a fast paced environment.
  • Must have effective interpersonal, teamwork, and communication skills.
  • Demonstrates good analysis and problem-solving skills.
  • Linux programming experience is a strong plus.
  • Experience in 5G NR/LTE and LTE Advanced RAN product development is a must
